By the end of the summer I'd like to have a dedicated vent server set up(I'll be taking care of it all-no questions asked >>). I prefer Ventrillo mainly because it has better codecs, so it sounds better and sounding better = good! However, my main question is, as of right now, do we have any mac users?
This will affect how I go about setting this server up. I know there is a mac of version of teamspeak as well as ventrillo, however it seems that only certain codecs can be used for cross-platform communication.
So let me know what you think. I could do teamspeak instead of everyone really prefers it that way too.

Awesome idea about having a server set up for us! (and I know we all appreciate your generosity!) I have never used Ventrillo, having gotten used to TeamSpeak so far, but I am happily willing to switch over if a majority of the guild members prefer vent to TS. It is definitely important for us to use a system that allows for good sound quality. Please post a reply with your opinion! Jimbones and I are Windows users, btw. Thanks again! Jocaste

I prefer to type more than talk anyways, and the down side to using such software tends to be that if you missed it once, there's no scroll up option. Regardless of my feelings, I'm neutral towards using Vent or TS simply because I have not noticed a difference in the sound quality of the two. So, either is good for me, whatever is preferred by the others.

So I've finally tried Ventrillo (our TeamSpeak server went down once so we used someone's Vent server for one night) and I must say that the sound quality was way better. Some people sounded amazingly different than they do on TS. However, my complaint with Vent is the user interface. Vent is harder to use than TS. So, once we get started, we'll have a guild vote to see which one people prefer. Any other comments and considerations are welcome! Tschüss! Jo
